Nicolaus Copernicus

Nicolaus Copernicus was born in Torun in 1473. He spent much of his youth studying. His studies included astronomy, mathematics, philosophy and medicine at different universities. He added his own considerations to those of Ptolemy and Aristoteles. He created a model in which he placed the sun into the centre of our solar system and gave an inclination to the earth. He wrote a book about his discoveries „On the Revolution of Heavenly Spheres ", which was published just before he died.
